I'm a cinematographer and videographer based in Seoul, South Korea, but originally from Wisconsin, USA. I graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2008 with a degree in Film and Video, and came to Korea planning to spend just a year or two abroad before heading back to work in New York or LA. That was over 15 years ago. Turns out Korea had other plans for me, and I ended up building my career here instead.

I work as a freelance cinematographer specializing in corporate videos, documentaries, events, commercials, and narrative films. I work with international clients and broadcasters like BBC, Bloomberg, and HBO, as well as independent filmmakers, artists, and passion projects. Most of my work is in Seoul, Busan, Jeju, and around Korea, but I've also filmed projects throughout Asia, Europe, North America, and South Africa.

I'm comfortable shooting on pretty much anything - film (35mm and 16mm), mirrorless cameras, DSLRs, or high-end digital cinema cameras like RED and ARRI. I also do time-lapse photography for construction projects, cityscapes, and long-term documentation.

Beyond camera work, I've directed and produced a few projects of my own. I directed a feature documentary called Sedae about generational divides in Korea, directed a musical film called They Say It's Wonderful that we shot in Cape Town, and co-founded a production company called Alkima with a good friend and collaborator. I've also worked with quite a few crypto and blockchain companies over the years - there's more info on that here if you're curious.

As a native English speaker working in Korea, I help bridge the language gap for international productions. I speak conversational Korean and have built a strong network of local crew, coordinators, and fixers who are fluent in both English and Korean. Whether you need camera services, production coordination, crew, equipment, locations, permits, or full fixer support for your project in Korea, I can help make it happen. You can reach me anytime through the contact form below, e-mail, phone, or pretty much any messenger app (WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, KakaoTalk, LINE, WeChat - I've got them all). Feel free to call at any hour if it's urgent. I'm used to working across time zones and respond quickly.

I’m looking forward to hearing about your project and working together!
